IPG desarrolla exitosamente programa inclusivo para estudiantes con necesidades educativas especiales
La Escuela de Educación y Desarrollo Social del Instituto Profesional IPG inició un gran desafío este 2022, implementando el “Programa de Inclusión en Educación Superior” (PINCES), cuyo objetivo principal es acompañar a estudiantes con necesidades educativas especiales que forman parte de nuestra Institución, otorgando herramientas que le permitan una mejor inserción a la educación superior.
La iniciativa que comenzó con su primer piloto el 2021 con alumnos de la sede Panguipulli, hoy beneficia a más de 20 personas de las siete sedes de IPG, quienes cuentan con el apoyo de Andrea Vicentelo, Educadora Diferencial y Coordinadora del Programa de nuestra Casa de Estudios.
Para ella, esta experiencia ha sido muy satisfactoria ya que ha podido vivenciar importantes avances, principalmente en el rendimiento académico y la autoestima de los beneficiados. “Las notas mejoran considerablemente e incluso, en algunos casos, logran un nivel superior que el de sus compañeros, lo que contribuye a que se sientan más seguros de sus competencias y también cómo se perciben en relación a sus pares”, comentó.
Cabe mencionar que Andrea dedica a cada beneficiario una sesión semanal de 45 minutos, que desarrolla de forma individual y remota. Para ser seleccionado, los postulantes son derivados desde las sedes, quienes previamente son acogidos por sus jefes de carreras, docentes y también en algunos casos derivados por la Dirección de Asuntos Estudiantiles (DAE). Luego, ella les realiza un diagnóstico de carácter privado donde evalúa sus capacidades cognitivas, trabajo que realiza junto con una Psicóloga.
Para conocer algunas impresiones y resultados de los seleccionados PINCES, la alumna de primer año de Técnico de Nivel Superior en Enfermería de la sede Panguipulli, Giovanna Iturrieta, dio su testimonio expresando que este apoyo lo ha sentido como “un acompañamiento, ya que me ha entregado varias técnicas para enfrentar mis dificultades, así como como manejar la ansiedad ante las pruebas y una mejor organización, sin duda, si no hubiese contado con este programa todo habría sido más difícil”, enfatizó.
Por su parte, Esteban Valle, alumno de Técnico en Construcción Civil de Panguipulli afirmó estar satisfecho con el programa. “Ser parte de él ha sido muy bueno, porque me ha permitido continuar estudiando y aprobar las asignaturas”, asimismo complementó que “al iniciar mis estudios tenía dudas si podría lograrlo, pero ahora con esta ayuda, sé que no estoy solo”.
Respecto a quienes no resultaron seleccionados para PINCES, la Coordinadora del Programa afirmó que estas personas “no quedan solas”, para ellos también se les realiza un seguimiento y proporciona material de apoyo que es entregado a sus jefes de carrera y docentes. Es por ello que es muy relevante la relación estudiante-docente y Jefe de Carrera para una correcta derivación y poder atender sus necesidades.
Luego de un año de arduo trabajo, la Coordinadora del Programa expresó estar satisfecha con los resultados académicos de sus beneficiarios. “Para este periodo de solemnes nuestros alumnos han aprobado todas sus asignaturas, quedan algunas todavía, sin embargo, mi percepción es que van a tener un buen cierre de año académico. Los veo más confiados en sus capacidades, eso sin duda, ayuda bastante”. Asimismo, agregó “estamos trabajando arduamente para este 2023, siempre con un enfoque de mejora continua. Seguiremos apoyando a quienes lo requieran, porque nuestro desafío es que nuestros estudiantes se sientan uno más de su curso y no diferente”, enfatizó.
