Estudiantes de carreras Marítimas de IPG sede Concepción reciben instrucción sobre “Técnicas de Supervivencia Personal”
Mediante el curso impulsado por la Organización Marítima Internacional (OMI) 1.19 sobre “Técnicas de Supervivencia Personal”, estudiantes de las carreras Técnico de Nivel Superior en Transporte Marítimo y Maquinaria Naval del Instituto Profesional IPG sede Concepción aprendieron sobre cómo actuar ante situaciones de emergencia en el caso de surgir durante su ejercicio en el mar.
La capacitación realizada desde el 3 al 5 de enero de 2024 incluyó dos etapas, una teórica desarrollada en las dependencias de nuestra Casa de Estudios y otra práctica, que tuvo lugar en la caleta Tumbes ubicada en el puerto de Talcahuano.
Respecto a su relevancia, su relator OMI, Antonio Urbina Silva indicó que ésta permite tanto a los Oficiales y Tripulantes de la Marina Mercante conocer y aplicar técnicas de sobrevivencia en el mar, ante un abandono que pueda realizarse producto de una colisión o varada de una nave.
“Es por ello que en la fase práctica se toman todas las medidas de seguridad establecidas por la Autoridad Marítima, tales como embarcación de rescate, buzo de rescate en el agua y personal paramédicos”, especificó el experto.
Además, sostuvo que “a través del curso el alumno será capaz de reaccionar en forma correcta durante situaciones de emergencia, como es el rescate de una persona caída al mar, evacuación o abandono, así como tomar las medidas apropiadas para su supervivencia y la de los demás y usar correctamente el equipo para este fin”.
Otro tema importante abordado durante la instrucción, fue enseñar a describir y corregir deficiencias para prevenir situaciones de emergencias, contribuyendo en su disminución educando cómo evitarlas o sobrellevarlas correctamente.
De este modo, se desarrolló un completo programa de supervivencia personal para nuestros estudiantes, quienes tuvieron una opinión muy positiva sobre la formación recibida que, sin duda, es fundamental para su formación y perfil de egreso profesional.
